F.A.Q. What do I need to think about when preparing my photo montage? When preparing what you need for your photo montage, you need to choose a basic mood for your project, which will mainly be determined by the song you choose and what the montage is for. Do you want the feel of your montage to be fun, or reflective? Once you have decided on the mood and the song, you will need to pick some of your favourite photos that will play a big part in the creation of your montage. Choose photos that will help in telling the story you want to tell. You may also want the photos to be in chronological order. We also need the photos to be numbered. You can also decide to include video clips, which can really add a lot to the montage. We will need these clips on VHS or mini DV tape. Once this is done, leave the rest to us, and your final product will be one that you will treasure forever. How long is a photo montage? A photo montage starts with a minimum of 30 photos, and anywhere between 10-15 photos are used per minute. Because the photos are synchronized to music, depending on the pace of your song, the length may vary. With our starter package for example, a montage is around two minutes in length (sometimes longer). How do I get my photos/video to you for my photo montage? If you’re photos are digital you can either email them to us or give it to us on CD. If you’re photos are not digital, you can deliver them to us in person or courier them to us. The photos need to be numbered, and if you are shipping them we recommend some type of cardboard/bubble wrap to protect them. Video tapes should be sent in a padded envelope. An additional fee will be added to photos that need to be scanned. We are also not responsible for any damage that occurs to the photos en route before and after we receive them. How does the song choice work? Music really helps in setting the mood, the pacing of the piece, as well as telling the story. Find the perfect song in your own music library, and include it on CD along with the photos. You need to own and have purchased the music you select. Also, you must agree/sign that the music used in the project is intended for personal viewing only and not intended for commercial purposes. If you need help choosing a song, we would be happy to recommend music that will enhance your project. Do I have to stick with your set packages? No. We do have three packages to choose from (see package/price list on photo montage page), but this is just a guideline you can choose from. You are welcome to customize a package that will really capture the look and feel you are after. Can I order extra copies of my montage? Yes. We know that one of the great aspects of a photo montage is sharing it with others. You can order additional DVD copies for an additional cost of $15.00 each. We will have your project on file for up to a year from the completed date.
